Senator McCain co-authored the Indian Gaming Regulatory Act of 1988. However, his efforts weren’t focused only on gaming. He believed in and respected the Tribes’ sovereign authority with Indian self-determination and self-governance. The Arizona Indian Gaming Association sends our prayers to the family of Senator John McCain. His legacy with Indian Country and others will be long remembered.
